Social media bares a lot of similarities to getting in shape.
You get out what you put in.
If you don’t invest the time, you won’t see a return. You need to get to the gym to see results. You need to get online to see results.
What you do today may hurt tomorrow.
Just as you need to be careful that the exercices you perform could lead to injury, be careful the words you choose. The internet never forgets.
It takes time
Today’s workout does not produce results today. Anybody that’s ever dieted or exercised knows that it takes time to see results.

It’s easier with a trainer
Guidance and knowledge make everything easier. Just as a trainer knows what exercises work what muscles, a good social strategist knows what efforts in what areas get results.
Learn from other’s mistakes. Why waste time making your own?
You need a plan
Without a plan you’re just winging it. If you want a full body workout, you need to plan for the different muscle groups. If you don’t plan, how do you know where you are at?
It’s more than just your time at the gym.
If you truly want to get in shape it’s more about what you put in than what you put out. You can’t work out 7 days a week and continue to put thousands of junk calories in and still see results.
You can get results but it’s very inefficient.
Consistency and routine
Going to the gym once won’t work. Going once a week won’t either. For best results, go 3-4 times per week. Social media is the same. Be consistent, human beings are creatures of habit.
Follow up
If you’re not following up and tracking your results you’ll never know if the plan is working. If you’re feeling stronger, leaner, healthier, you’re on the right track.
In order to successfully get in shape you need a plan, strategy, tactics, and tracking systems in place. Social media is no different. In a nutshell, commitment, consistency, and patience are the keys.

Excellent – and I especially appreciate points about consistency, and it takes time (we are a group of immediate gratification seekers) . Good post that is succinct and can be used as a guide to getting started.
Thanks!
We have become a microwave society. We want everything and we want it in 30 seconds or less.
Patience is the virtue most lacking today. It is also the virtue most needed in today’s society.
